If you could pick a president who would it be and why?

I have no idea. Enlighten me.

I think Colin Powell might make a good president.

Why?

Well for starters he served our country in the military for many years. That means something to me when you consider he or she will be Commander in Chief making decisions that affect other peoples lives.

He has extensive public service including Secretary of State, National Security Advisor, Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff.

He is a liberal Republican and I think there is respect for him on both sides. This I believe would allow him to bring people together.

Mostly I believe he a man of character. He seems to me very thoughtful and professional in the way he conducts himself. Powell has been considered for president before but declined to run.

Nobody who's running now! Beyond that I don't know. Probably no one truly qualified would want to run.

Too bad he won't run. I agree with PO. The people who qualify and would make a good president won't run.

I used to think Al Gore would have been a great president and I'm not a fan of Global Warming. He knew what worked via serving with Clinton in regards to the economy.

As for the people now maybe Bernie 4 years younger dropping the free tuition kick.
