Cross-training today. Cleaned out many cart-loads of "beans" and saturated straw from the llama pen, carted a few loads of dirt from the farm field to the former veggie bed in the yard, that will be returned to grass this spring.

27 miles on the bike. My heart rate got scary high many times thanks, I think, to all these stupid cold meds I've been taking.

Yesterday I led my Zumba class and Tai Chi class. I skipped Mixxed Fit though. I felt like a bum and horrible afterwards for skipping. Sad

Don't feel bad, skipping is a good way to build calf muscles and foot quickness!

6 miles this morning, running on the country roads around my house. Had to dodge two huge tank trucks that were picking up liquid manure at the neighbor's dairy farm, driving to my fields, and spraying the stuff - quite fragrant!

Trails in NYC?

I live outside of NYC-Long Island. One hour west is NYC-one hour east of me-Hamptons. I don't care for the Hamptons, I prefer the North fork of the Island.

I have a small patch of paradise/trails near me.

Yeah, but not the double digit property taxes. But, an excellent school district.

Only vicarious running today - watched the Boston Marathon. Spent the rest of the morning and all afternoon putting together raised beds in the garden because I'm tired of the bending/stooping that goes with conventional gardening. Got the framing (using old wooden pallets) assembled and the linings in. Next, fill the things with dirt and compost. Dang I'm tired. Maybe the stooping and bending wasn't that bad.

4 miles in my new shoes Hoka. Very disappointed with the shoe. I bought them out of curiosity of trying a new brand, and were on clearance from Running warehouse.

I'm sticking with Brooks and Mizuno.

4.5 miles on the local university's cross-country course this morning. Another in a string of perfect running days - sunny, cool, dry. The farmers need some rain!
