| Merry Belated Christmas and a happy safe New Year.
What's everyone's plans for New Year's Eve?
We are staying home. My sister in law usually has a big party, but with her illness progressing nothing this year.

Sorry to read about your SIL's illness progressing. Thanks AR. It has been almost 2 years of several medications, and Sloan Kettering in NYC. She had a tumor behind her eyeball that was removed. We are waiting for the blood tests to see if the that didn't spread. I've spoken to a lot of people. Many women said they would go out of the country for care for a better survival rate.

There are conspiracys that there is a cure for cancer, but the United States pharmaceutical industries make big bucks from the cancer drugs. My sister in law included, read a book about a doctor, who authored a book about a cure for advanced breast cancer. He was mysteriously found murdered in his Manhattan home. I can't recall the doctor's name. I can find out if you want me to. Many women feel Japan, Europe and Mexico are the best choices to combat advanced breast cancer. It's a matter of being able to stay in a country for long time while being treated. Thank you for the best wishes.

Thank you for the best wishes. Sorry about your SIL. Cancer is a nasty disease. I don't put much stock in the conspiracy theories, but I hope SIL finds the care she needs wherever she goes.

Thank you for the best wishes. I guess standard U.S. medical treatments don't do very well against a lot of cancers, so alternative treatments can look attractive, even if they are not well documented.

They are determining this by the recovery rate of women in Japan and Europe versus U.S statistics. The population should also be determined. I've really never looked into it, and hope I never have to. Maybe I sound naive. But how does someone who is following a holistic diet, and in the best of care for 1.7 months get sicker? And I disagree with the diet she is on, with the exception of elimination of white refine sugar. The only protein she gets is 1 scoop of whey. No fruit. No meat. No fish. No dairy. Only a certain amount of selective vegetables. She's skin and bones from this diet and not on chemo yet. I don't think a strict vegan diet is making her better. She needs more nutrition. Then again, I'm not a nutritionist for cancer patients. I do however, have a client who is a cancer survivor. Prior to her disease she was a strict vegan. During chemo/recovery, and currently, her medical doctor told her not to be vegan. No white sugar. Red meat twice a month, chicken, fish, fruit vegetables. She has been in remission for 3 years and said she feels a lot better.

| It's hard to see how a diet that makes you scrawny and weak can help you fight against cancer. I think your client has the right idea. | |

The whole family does. Update. She is going to see a doctor in California.

Update. She is going to see a doctor in California. Good for her! Probably better than going to see a doctor in Mexico.

She lives here in NY. So, there will obviously be a lot of traveling involved and being away. Sadly, it's a fight for life. The survival rate is %26. I believe she will be the %26.
