PostSubject: Christmas Shopping   Fri Dec 02, 2016 3:30 pm

I won half the battle by knowing what I'm getting everyone.
I started last night and ordered some things online.
I also want to make my mother a Christmas wreath.

Every year I say I'm going to start in November to avoid the lines. It never happens.
I also kind of like everyone in the spirit of things when shopping.

How's it going with you?

Our family quit doing gifts years ago. We still get together, go for hikes, or to the beach. So my shopping is doing great!

That's awesome BIS. HTR, my shopping is going well. Kids and grands are nearly done. Mostly online. We do a get together with Dave's kids. This year we are going to Gurnee, WI. Dinner, water park, visiting. I am cutting back, again next year, for my adults kids.

I prefer presents that don't stay around - experiences, food, things like that.

Yes, experiences are high on my list as well. I do like when someone gives me something that is obviously very thoughtful.

Except for gifts for the grands there isn't much shopping because we (immediate and close extended family members) have agreed we all have enough stuff. Our gift to each other the past several Christmases is to get together. This year the location is Williamsburg, Virginia.

We have 2 teenage daughters who are not spoiled. So for Christmas we like to give them items they need and nice things they want. We are blessed with 2 good kids. To me, that's a wonderful gift.

It will be the first Christmas since Dad passed. I'm a bit low key this year with cheer and get my occasional bouts.
I put on the happy face for others. In due time.

I have my wife done which is key. I bought for 1 nephew last week. She buys for the rest, or I give cash. This Christmas will be different as my wife is having neck surgery (herniated disc) on 12/19 so will be low key/play it by ear.

Just some gift certificates. Easy. Just run in and out of the store.

I also hand made gifts of Christmas decor as gifts.

I shipped a wreath to my brother and him and his wife loved it. Said, hand made gifts are great.
