| I'd been begging my boss for a printer for 2 years now!!! He always said no and would make me go up and down the stairs like 10 times a day to print stuff off in the main office. Well he left and they hired somebody new. I asked him for a printer and he approved it immediately!!! 2 years!!! 2 years I've been asking for a printer!!! I'm SO STINKIN excited I feel like crying!!!!! | |

| Funny too bad he left. Printers don't cost much compared to time wasted going upstairs. | |

| We have a guy like that at the company I used to work for. He insisted that we take our co trucks into the shop every 5,000 miles to get the tires rotated. The cost of our time vs. 10% longer tread wear. Our lost time would pay for a new set of tires twice over every tire replacement. Pennywise and pound foolish. | |

| For some, the automatic response to a request is 'no.' It sounds like your former boss was in that camp.
It is hard to figure out how some people think. Without going unto specifics, years ago when a piece of equipment failed where I was working, because it was underpowered and undersized for the task, the person I worked for refused to replace it with something more appropriate. Instead, he insisted on repairing the original item, and when that failed replacing with another just like it. This process was repeated literally for years. When he left the first thing the new fellow did was junk the inadequate equipment and replace it with the right thing.

| So how will you replace all the exercise you were getting, going up and down the stairs? Step aerobics class? | |

One of my co-workers kept teasing me b/c he was saying I'm a personal trainer I shouldn't complain about getting exercise going up and down the stairs. It wasn't the exercise I minded it was the wasted time of having to go up and down all the time when I had a lot of work to do. I still have my fitness classes I teach that will fill in the loss of stair climbing.
