| For us, it looks to be just a typical week unti Friday. If there are any surprises we are not aware of them, but if we were they wouldn't be a surprise, right? Friday we will be with DS#2 and family. | |

| I've had drizzly mornings so far this week which makes slows down progress on work. Slippery isn't always a good thing. | |

| decent week. weather is turning to average temps and the sun is predicted to make a couple of appearances. Work is steady. A coworker who has been off for 8 weeks is due back on Monday. I am so looking forward to giving her clients back to her.... I have Friday off, so today is sort of my hump day. | |

| Sunday prediction — steady rain beginning Monday and lasting all week Monday prediction — no rain today, but steady rain beginning Tuesday Tuesday prediction at 4:00am — 30% chance of rain after 9:00 am (got dumped on while running at 4:30am), 70% chance of thunderstorms every day rest of the week Today's prediction — no rain today or tomorrow, but thunderstorm Friday. Maybe.
Can't wait to see what the guess is tomorrow!

| Last week I had an emergency root canal. It's fine now. Sunday I got a lot of outdoor planting done, just in time for a week of clouds and rain. I still feel the void with my dad, but each week it gets better. I got a physical done. had not had one in 3 years. I feel good i did something for myself. I'm way over due for a manicure. I believe tomorrow will be the day. | |

| Had a couple of nice trips. Went to Pacifica CA with my mother and had lunch on Friday. We did a small hike and talked for a while with this view Today DW and I took a trip to Marin National Park located on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco. It didn't rain as was forecasted. Turned out surprisingly nice. Prior to becoming a National Park it was used largely by the Army. They had tours of the Nike missile lunching facility. Nuke missiles were stored underground. A large hydraulic lift would bring them to the surface where they could be deployed. The missiles were designed to bring down enemy planes by getting close and detonating a nuke to cause a Soviet bomber to be destroyed far out enough that the SF bay are wouldn't be hit. As part of the tour we were able to go down in the pit and watch them bring a missile to the surface and then raise it to launch position. The tour guides were men who had served at the base and would have been the ones to actually launch these missiles had it been necessary. It was both sobering and fascinating. These guys were super badass. Here is some info on the Nike missile program

The Nike Missile site was a complete surprise. I knew about all the old concrete bunker buildings in the headlands and went just for that. Not only did we find out about the missile site they were actually giving tours by the men that had their fingers on the buttons (under orders of course) that could have started WW3. 18-20 years old most of them at the time. We also got to tour the Point Bonita Lighthouse with a guide. Everything was completely free aside from some small donations we made. Do you live near SF Nazareth?

Do you live near SF Nazareth? My uncle lived in SF and my son lives in SF now, so I've been there several times, for anywhere from a few days to a couple of months. I always try to visit Muir Woods when I'm in the area. Never had a guided tour of the Nike site, though!
